Greetings, We are thrilled to introduce the Department of Education (HODIDE), a vital part of Hoima Diocese, actively dedicated to providing education services in Mid-Western Uganda. Covering an expansive area of 17,200 Sq. Kilometres and according to the Uganda National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) 2024 conducted by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), Bunyoro Sub-region, which is occupied by Hoima Catholic Diocese, has a total population of 2,792,732 people. Bunyoro Sub-region has approximately 943,000 school-age children (3-18 years) according to the Uganda National Population and Housing Census 2024 education profile. Hoima Diocese comprises eight (8) districts, One (1) city, and one (1) Municipality, encompassing 54 Catholic Parishes from a Pastoral perspective. At the heart of our mission, the Diocese of Hoima plays a pivotal role in managing various educational institutions. The mission of Hoima Catholic Diocese is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, foster the spiritual growth of God’s people, and promote integral human development through evangelization, education, health care, social services and pastoral ministry, guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Diocese believes education is an essential ministry of evangelization and human transformation and remains committed to transforming lives, nurturing moral and spiritual values, and contributing to the integral development of individuals and communities through education.
