HOIMA DIOCESE EXAMINATIONS COMMITTEE

Hoima Diocese Department of Education is the Ministry of Education of the Catholic Diocese of Hoima. Its main role is to oversee the implementation of the established National and Diocesan policies in all Catholic Founded Schools in the Diocese.

Reference was made during the various meetings which were held in 2018 and 2019 of the Secondary School Headteachers resolution that a Diocesan UCE Mock Examination be prepared and administered throughout our schools.

The major objectives of this mock examination are to:

1. Collectively prepare our candidates to sit for the final UCE UNEB Examinations;
2. Create a spirit of competition in all Catholic schools to enhance academic performance;
3. Bring teachers in our Catholic schools together and building their technical competences;
4. Instilling the spirit of working together as Catholic secondary schools and collaborating schools.

In 2022 the first UCE Diocesan mock was held throughout the Diocese of Hoima with a number of 42 schools participating in the examination of which two were from Fort Portal Diocese. The examination process was spearheaded by 6 volunteers with Mr. Patrick Ssenyonyi as the Chairperson, Kirungi Caroline as the Secretary, Tumuhaise A Centenary and Businge Boniface were members, Fr. Patrick Mugisa as an advisor, Ategeka Martha and Kenneth Atugonza as Coordinators.

On the 22^nd November 2022, a meeting was organized by the Secretariat at St. Nicholas Hall, Bujumbura Parish for the formation of the Hoima Diocese Examinations Committee.

This year 2023, the examination will be held from the 21^st July to 11^th August 2023.

 Marking will be centrally and will commence on 26^th August to 2^nd September 2023.

 Results will be released on the 15^th September 2023.

The whole process is being spearheaded by Mr. Tumuhaise A. Centenary, the Chairperson with 12 other committee members and 8 District representatives.
